Long plane ride to China with layovers need entertainment ideas?

I am going to China with 2 stops before I actually get on the plane to Shanghai for a total of 17 hours in flight. I need entertainment ideas. I have an ipod and an android phone, but that will only last but for so long. I need suggestions for entertainment choices and ways to keep myself and my occupied without packing half of my house. I wanted an iPad, but the technology is not there in China yet and wifi would not be possible.
