If you are just past statute of limitions, does it make more sense to use an overtime attorney or DOL?

To collect overtime from a former employer? For the record, I started working overtime in early/mid June 2009. My last overtime hour was in late 2010, so if something is done very soon, I should get most of it, but I am asking does it make more sense for me to use an overtime attorney or DOL for my matter?
