How do I find out info on a trust?

Hello, A while ago I was informed I had a trust by my grandma. My mother had told her she had sued a apartment complex when I cut my foot on some glass or what ever, but any records have been lost. I currently don't know it if is true or not. I Have searched California court records and came up empty. My grandmother gave me the name of the attorney who represented me, I can't get a hold of her and California bar association has her name under "Not Eligible To Practice Law". Is there any legal way for me to find out if this is true and how can I get the trust?
